VILLA, Antone J.
Antone J. Villa, 65, of Kings Point, Sun City Center, FL passed away Thursday, May 20, 2010, at LifePath Hospice in Sun City Center, FL. Antone was born November 21, 1944, in New Bedford, MA. Prior to moving to Florida in 1988, Antone lived in Lakeville, MA, where he was an architectural draftsman and call fireman for the Lakeville Fire Department. He is survived by his wife Evelyn, mother Emily Villa of Acushnet, MA; son Joseph Villa of Anderson, SC; daughter, Denise Mindle of New Bedford, MA; grandsons, Thomas Villa, Antone Villa II, Alexander Villa, and one granddaughter Rebekah Villa; sister, Carol Treacy of Port St. Lucie, FL; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Funeral mass will take place Saturday, June 5, 2010, 11 a.m. at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Sun City Center, FL. Reception following at Kings Point main clubhouse. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the American Red Cross.
QUEEN, Gerald Beecher
Gerald Beecher Queen, of Sun City Center Florida, formerly of Punta Gorda, FL, and Milford, MI, passed away May 20, 2010. He was preceded in death by his wonderful wife, Janet Queen and is survived by his daughter Sallie McLaughlin (Rory A.) of Austin, Texas; son, Sandy Queen (Judie ) of Apollo Beach, FL; brothers, William Queen, Douglas Queen, and sister, MaryAnn Pear. A private celebration of life will be held on June 17, 2010. Those who wish may contribute to Life Path Hospice, Sun City, FL in Jerry’s memory. The family would like to recognize the staff at Sun Towers and all of Jerry’s special Sun City friends.
GILLESPIE, Clark F.
Clark F. Gillespie, 80, of Sun City Center, died May 26 after battling heart disease for many years. He was born in Gary, Indiana, to Fred J. Gillespie and Elizabeth Clark Gillespie. He and Norma, his wife of 60 years, raised their four children, Deb, Clark, Carol, and Jo in the Chicago area, where he was a contractor. He and Norma have been residents of the Sun City Center area since 1986. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Arrangements were under the direction of Zipperer’s Funeral Home, Ruskin.
CLARK, Margaret T.
Pacific Grove – Margaret T. Clark, 97, passed away at home peacefully and in comfort, surrounded by her loving family.
Margaret Tannehill Clark was born in Norfolk, NE, and attended nursing school at Clarkson Hospital (Clarkson College) in Omaha where she earned her R.N. degree. Soon after Margaret met George Clark, who was to be the love of her lifetime and they were married in 1938. They had two children and lived in several places on the East Coast including Boston, MA and moved to the Gulf Coast of Florida in 1960. When her son entered college, Margaret returned to nursing working in the Intensive Care Unit at Mound Park Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida and continued in the nursing profession for 15+ years. After her husband retired, the couple moved to Sun City Center and enjoyed the relaxed lifestyle there. They loved to travel and visited Europe, New Zealand, Australia, and the Orient as well as many places in the US visiting their children and other family and friends. In 2003 Margaret moved to Pacific Grove, CA on the Monterey Peninsula to be with her daughter Susan. Here she enjoyed lunches at the Carmel Foundation and continued being an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
What will her family remember about her? We’ll remember her wonderful sense of humor, that she loved roses, and pansies, and poetry. We’ll remember her strength, her fierce independence, but most of all, the great love she had for her family. Mother, you will be forever in the hearts of all who loved you so deeply.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan Clark and her husband, Allan Freidson of Pacific Grove, CA, her son David Clark of Tampa, FL, her grandson, Tyler Clark of Tampa, FL, her nephews Denny Price (Margie) of Norfolk, NE, Jerry Price (Trudy) of Clearwater FL, Charles Clark (Mary) of New Zealand, her nieces Gillian Clark (Graeme) of Novato, CA and Elizabeth Davis (Richard) of New Zealand.
She was preceded in death by her husband George W. Clark (1997), her parents, George and Stella Tannehill, her sister Helen Price, and her brother George Tannehill.
A service will take place in Florida on June 9 at 10:45am at Bay Pines National Cemetery in St. Petersburg, FL. Interment will follow and Margaret will be placed to rest next to her beloved husband of 59 years.
